Blower Door Testing

Blower door testing is a diagnostic tool used to measure a home’s air tightness and energy efficiency. During the test, a powerful fan is mounted in an exterior doorway to pull air out of the home, lowering the indoor pressure and revealing where outside air is leaking in. This helps identify drafts around windows, doors, insulation gaps, and other problem areas. By pinpointing these leaks, homeowners can make targeted improvements to reduce energy loss and lower utility bills. Blower door testing is commonly used in new construction and energy audits to ensure homes meet efficiency standards.
